The Wire Just Got Smarter
This is of particular import to those of you folks that share your pages with other Editors. How many times have you gone to the wire and found the perfect story only to post it and discover (much to your horror) that someone beat you to it? Sometimes they beat you by five minutes, sometimes by five hours.
The Topix wire has grown a bigger brain.

When you view the wire, the stories that already appear on the news page are grayed out and crossed out. You can now tell at a glance if the latest stories on the wire appear on the news page. You know what that means? Editing races. Competition. One-upsmanship. Oh...and a whole lot less frustration and wasted time.
This is an improvement directly resulting from Editor feedback, so keep it coming and let's steer this ship together.

I use the Wire almost exclusively unless I get a link to a story from some other website. I get criticized constantly for the stories I post because certain people find them to be biased or not in agreement with their particular views (Immigration Reform Forum.) What's the best way to answer this critics? I've told them that I just post articles and how they're received is up to the individual poster. Are opinion or editorial articles off limits? They seem to not like those kind but prefer articles of a factual nature.

Editorial and Opinion pieces are not off limits as long as they are relevant to your newspage. My answer to any user that doesn't agree with an editor's choice in topics for the page is, SIGN UP TO EDIT THE PAGE and add the content that you feel more accurately represents the subject matter. We are all human beings with our own flavor on any subject. That is what makes us cooler than robots, and certainly Roboblogger.
